Supporting NSOs to develop the quality of programs
The world of scouting is not just about outdoor adventures and community service; it’s also about building resilient, skilled, and empowered individuals who can make a positive difference in their communities. The Regional Support to NSOs to Develop the Quality of Programs project has been at the forefront of this mission, working tirelessly to enhance the capabilities of National Scout Organizations (NSOs) across the Arab region. Let’s take a closer look at how this initiative has transformed scouting programs and fostered sustainable growth.
A Tailored Approach to Empowering NSOs
From its inception on August 15, 2023, the project set out with a clear objective: to provide tailored support to NSOs based on their specific needs. Over 16 months, the project engaged deeply with NSOs, offering them resources, training, and expert consultations in areas such as educational methodologies, organizational development, strategic partnerships, and communication strategies.
One of the most significant achievements was the Professional Media Training Diploma , conducted in collaboration with the American University in Cairo (AUC). This intensive program brought together participants from eight countries—Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Palestine—and equipped them with advanced skills in media practices and communications. With 15 individuals trained, this initiative has significantly strengthened the ability of NSOs to effectively convey their messages and engage broader audiences.
Additionally, the Communications Services Event held in Oman in July 2024 further bolstered the capacity of NSOs in this critical area. Another highlight was the Social Impact Services Workshop in Egypt, which taught participants how to measure and evaluate the societal impacts of their programs, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and more impactful initiatives.
