
St. John's Institute's Senior Scouts join First Aid Training Camp
Ten Senior Scouts of St. John's Institute (SJI), Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines participated in the First Aid Training Camp sponsored by the Amity Public Safety Academy (APSA)from February 4 to 5.
The camp aimed to increase the knowledge and hone the skills of SJI Senior Scouts in giving immediate care and assistance in cases of emergency at school, home and outdoors.
"I am so happy and fulfilled because the scouts are able to develop their capabilities in giving first aid in case of incidents and emergencies not only in school but also in their respective homes," SJI Boy Scout Adviser, Mr. Joel Nedamo said.
The first day of camp included sessions on proper bandaging of wounds and injuries, methods of carrying and first aid applications. It ended with a camp fire.
"The camp was familiar yet fun, informative and very interesting," said Santino Campos, SJI Boy Scout Senior Crew Leader.
A lecture and practical execution of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and ways of dealing with conscious and unconscious victims capped the two-day training camp.*
