" Skill Acquisition Course 2025 "

Empowering Youth Through Skills and Leadership for a Sustainable Future. The "Skill Acquisition Course 2025", organized by Bangladesh Scouts – Dhaka District Rover, was successfully held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Tejgaon College Auditorium, Farmgate, Dhaka. This transformative event focused on equipping Rover Scouts with essential life and professional skills aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It was not just a course, but a movement to prepare youth as changemakers in society. Distinguished Guests at the Inaugural Ceremony Chief Guest Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, LT Director (Secondary), Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, and Editor, Bangladesh Scouts – Rover Region Special Guest Professor Shamima Yasmin Acting Principal, Tejgaon College She emphasized the importance of mental well-being and skill-based education for youth. Chair of the Event Mr. Mu. Omar Ali, LT Commissioner, Bangladesh Scouts – Dhaka District Rover He inspired Scouts to take leadership roles in community development and youth empowerment. What We Learned from the Course The Skill Achievement Course 2025 focused on four core skill areas designed to empower Rover Scouts with practical, real-world knowledge: Office Management Filing and documentation skills Time management and organizational communication Professional workplace behavior Mental Safety Stress management and emotional resilience Building self-confidence and positive thinking Promoting mental health awareness in teams and communities Photography Basics of using a camera and composing a shot Capturing key moments in Scout events Visual storytelling through images Journalism Writing clear and impactful reports Collecting and verifying information Managing media and promoting Scout activities Scouts for SDGs: Skills for Sustainable Development This course directly contributed to achieving several SDGs: By fostering skills, leadership, and awareness, this program prepared Scouts to become responsible, active citizens—ready to lead change in their communities. The Skill Achievement Course 2025 was not just an event; it was a step toward building a more skilled, resilient, and responsible youth generation. The enthusiasm and engagement of participating Scouts reflected their dedication to service, development, and lifelong learning. Such initiatives prove that Scouts are more than volunteers—they are leaders in action.
