Seeing Through the Eyes of Those Impacted
Scouts from Pulung Santol National High School have started their journey on becoming Impact Innovators by engaging themselves in the activity called Empathy Map. The activity lets Scouts view and feel through the lives of people who are challenged by different socioeconomic and environmental problems.
The Scouts primarily focused on issues encountered by youth like them: depression, teenage pregnancy, and bullying. As the Scouts discussed more on thoughts and emotions of people affected by these issues, they also gained a deeper sense of understanding on the issues and even greater motivation to address them.
“This stage taught me that the foundation of every impactful innovation begins not with the final product, but with the courage to ask, “What problem truly matters?” -Cristhon
Through team effort, the Scouts were able to illustrate the problems, thoughts, and feelings of the person they are trying to empathize with.
The Scouts are now ready to dive into the ocean of creativity.
