Scouts South Sudan Recovery and Rehabilitation Process

In May 2nd - 7th, 2018 South Sudan Scout Association Leadership in partnership with WSB/Africa Support in Nairobi conducted its first Scout leaders training in Juba after the arm conflicts that led to displacement, insecurity and total collapse of the economy, may are forced to run to refugee camps in the neighbouring countries. The training aimed to revitalize scouting activities, while also to create peace the divided youths of South Sudan. The training was attended with 37 Scouts drawn from all regions of South Sudan. And this has given scouting in South Sudan a new beginning of scouting activities in many parts of South Sudan which were hard to reach because of insecurity and bad roads. South Sudan Scout Association being a new association in a troubled country is challenged with lack of updated constitution, Youth Programme which is the core of scouting and scout badges. However, the leadership of Scouting movement in South Sudan is exhorting its effort to ensure that scouting provide meaningful, effective and relevant scout activities that inspire both the scouts and the communities.
