Safe from Harm pilot assessment Nepal Scouts

Two members of the WOSM Safe from Harm team had the opportunity to join the Nepal Scout leadership team for 2 days to go through a full Safe from Harm assessment. This was an opportunity to review the policy, procedure, processes and implementation of Nepal Scouts through the five dimensions of the Safe from Harm assessment: child and youth safeguarding; adult safeguarding; recruitment, selection and training of Adults in Scouting; report, response and case management; education. These 2 days allowed the NSO to better understand where they are standing towards safeguarding international standards and to set a plan of action to keep to momentum and further work on Safe from Harm at every level of the NSO.

The project was implemented under the World Safe from Harm Policy, a framework developed by World Scouting to protect and safeguard children , young people and adults. Safe from Harm actions are developed with the support of Alwaleed Philanthropies, enabling children and young people to feel safe and grow in a protected environment.
