In April 2024 I attended Rovermate 1 and 2 training at Zetech university Organized by the Kiambu County Rover Scouts and it was such an Educational Moment. Day 1 was Climate setting and we also did a course Safe from Harm From scout.org Day 2 was on Fundamental principles of Scouting, Origin and Dress code in scouting done by The Scouts Commissioner Juja Lenny Wachira KenyaScouts Association Day 3 was a bit packed We learned About JASIRI Scouts programme road map to Chief Scout Award, Exploring Benefits of the scouts program done by The National badge Secretary, partnership and Resources mobilization ,Crew Organization and Management that was done in a special way that is Learning by doing by The National badge Secretary Sir Nick, Conflict resolution and Outdoor Rovers activities Day 4 we had a project on Tree planting, did Tree planting at the institution, Open Forum and Lastly the Awarding session. It was a learning and unlearning session for me and I totally enjoyed...am sure someone is Wondering kwani Scouting so kumarch pekee na kusaidia and my answer is A big YES we do more than just Marching.. The sessions were planned to equip us the rovers with knowledge and skills to perform our duties as Rovermate's in our respective crews.
