Ready for Anything: Disaster Mock Drill
What inspired you to take up the project?
We were inspired to conduct the disaster mock drill to help students and staff understand how to respond calmly and safely during emergencies. The project aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness, build confidence, and promote a culture of safety within the school.
What are the learnings you got from implementing this project and how would you make it better?
We learned that being prepared and staying calm are very important during emergencies. The project taught us the importance of teamwork, clear communication, quick decision-making, and following safety procedures. We also realized that regular disaster drills can help everyone respond more confidently and effectively during real emergencies.
Where was your project implemented and how did you execute it?
We conducted the disaster mock drill by first briefing students and staff on emergency procedures and safety measures. We then simulated a disaster situation, practiced evacuation through designated routes, gathered at the assembly point, and checked attendance to ensure everyone was safe. The drill was followed by a short review to identify areas for improvement.
