Polish Scout Leader chosen for the project – Mars One – Human Settlement of Mars

The Netherland organization Mars One is going to organize exploration of Mars. It is private mission which hopes to take first humans on Red Planet. They are going to send in 2025 four people who will start permanent colony on this planet. Last days they have chosen 100 people who are still running to become humanity's first Mars explorers. Between this 100 chosen people there are 3 Poles – Joanna, Maciej and M1-KO (it’s his nickname). Joanna Karczewska is Polish scout leader from Sopot District. The competition was very difficult and Joanna was selected from more than 200 000 applications. The remaining candidates will next participate in group challenges, to demonstrate their ability and willingness to deal with the rigors of Mars life. After another round of cuts, the finalists will be divided into four-person teams, which will train in a simulated Red Planet outpost. The Mars One hopes to send four-person crews every two years – who will be the first? More information about the project Mars One .
