Plastics - Benefecial or Disruptive?

Plastics - Benefecial or Disruptive?

Our Tide Turners Plastic Challenge Team and I started its journey towards a sustainable Healthy Planet. The challenge requires at least five activities from the Action Kit. One down! The activity taught me everything I need to learn about plastic. From its etymology, process, and risks. With the help of cleanseas.org, one of the partners of UN Environment Program with regards to plastic pollution, there are a lot of things I need to know about plastic management and marine litter. It's beneficial since they provided alternative ways to rethink about we manage plastics, especially single-use plastics. Also, I watched a video from TedEd - Earth School. It tackled about how the world is turning into plastic. In this video, I learned that there are dangerous contents plastic has that enters our food chain and goes back to the food we put in our plates. It is frightening that by 2050, there will be more plastics floating around than fish. Also, I audited my plastic habit and where my waste goes. After watching the video, I learned that not all plastics collected by the junk dealer is being segregated and recycled. Now, I am rethinking my plastic habit. Environmentalist started their campaign to beat plastic pollution. It's time to take action!
