Participating in JOTA-JOTI 2020, Jamboree in Covid
JOTA-JOTI#2020, The NEXT online Jamboree during COVID lockdown
The lockdown was still imposed with all the scout activities- crew meetings, hikes, scouts class, and many more- halted. In the same year, after the JOTI-2020 special edition, the annually scheduled JOTA-JOTI (Jamboree On The Air-Jamboree On The Internet) 2020 appeared for scouts around the world.
Following the previous experience, I registered for JOTA-JOTI 2020. This time I was not alone. After guiding the school scouts to create scouts account and registering them for JOTA-JOTI 2020 during an online event, Treasure Hunt-An Online Adventure for local Scouts (Scouts Project link: https://bit.ly/3gmhF2X), we all participated together.
During the event, I got engaged in Fun Zone, Knowledge Valley, Safety Center, Leader's site, and mostly Challenge Valley.
1. I had a fun time interacting in Earth Tribe Community, solving puzzles and quizzes, participating in Toy Center, listening to Spotify, making Origami- the longest flying kite, using Google Art and Culture Virtual Experience, and campfire, on the last day.
2. I participated in classes related to Gender Equality, Earth Tribe, Know Dialogue, Know Messenger of Peace. Also, I had already completed the online course (How to be Safe Online?), which was also available in the safety center. I also surfed through Leader's site which provided insight about the Scouts Academy and WOSM services
3. There were some additional activities and extra rewards to the accomplishers. Among the List of 10 My Challenge Valley, I completed the 2 of them (WWF Challenge and Worlds Largest Lesson) and managed to engage in 5 (in addition, Peace & Community Challenge, Friendship Challenge, Scouts for SDGs.
The event had many activities, related to SDGs, which included reading materials, games, DIYs, recorded videos, live, zoom conference, bot handled, and others. To sum up, the engagement in JOTA-JOTI 2020 was fun and challenging.
