Paint it back!

Boranka is the largest European volunteer project to re-plant trees destroyed by wildfires. Croatian Scouts were one of the first to move to action. In Boranka_2024 we want to contribute to the improvement of knowledge and skills among children and young people, related to the protection of nature, forests and the importance of combating climate change by providing quality beyond teaching content and provide children and young people with active civic engagement by volunteering to participate in afforestation activities. Environmental activities in which we include children and young people, are an excellent way to concretely address the need, and that is to protect the nature, to show the individual how his/her contribution is important and significant, to engage in socially useful activities in order to one day continue to act responsibly towards nature. So far, in this activity, we have included 214 students in educational activities through 7 workshops in 7 different high schools in Croatia in Zagreb, Karlovac, Ivanić Grad and Velika Gorica. Through educations we contribute to the improvement of knowledge and skills among children and young people related to their better understanding of climate change and how they, as individuals, can contribute to nature preservation and also in they every they life help combat against climate change. In the next period, we will implement more educational workshops and we will take Scouts, students, and citizens to reforestation activities.
