NATIONAL YOUTH DAY-2020

National Youth Day is celebrated on 12 January being the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since from 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year.

It was a decision of Government of India taken in 1984 to celebrate the birthday of great Swami Vivekananda, i.e. 12 January, as National Youth Day every year. The Government of India quoted that ' the philosophy of Swamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth Day.

Remembering the day and our great Swami Vivekananda we Beden Powell Rover Crew we Conducted National Youth Day programme in Bhadradri District Kothagudem along with our rovers and school students. The chief guest for the event is B. Satyam Scouting Commisioner for Kothagudem District. In this event many of the students has participated. 

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY THEME

Following are the year wise themes of national youth day celebration in India:

> According to Ramakrishna Mission, the theme for 2019 is “Youth and Nation Building”

> The theme of 2018 was “Sankalp se Siddhi”.

> The theme of 2017 was “Youth for Digital India”.

> The theme of 2016 was “Indian Youth for Development, Skill and Harmony”.

> The theme of 2015 was “Youngmanch” and “Youth for Clean, Green and Progressive India” (and slogan was “hum se hai nayi shuruaat”).

> The theme of 2014 was “Youth for Drugs Free World”.

> The theme of 2013 was “Awakening the Youth Power”.

> The theme of 2012 was “Celebrating Diversity in Unity”.

> The theme of 2011 was “Sabse Pehle Bharat”.

The National Youth Day is observed all over India at schools and colleges, with processions, speeches, music, youth conventions, seminars, Yogasanas, presentations, competitions in essay-writing, recitations and sports on 12 January every year. Swami Vivekananda's lectures and writings, deriving their inspiration from Indian spiritual tradition and the broad outlook of his Master Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. These were the source of inspiration and have motivated numerous youth organizations, study circles and service projects involving the youth.
