LIFE AT A CHILDREN'S HOME

LIFE AT A CHILDREN'S HOME

Today we visited Hossana Love of africa Children's Home , an ophanarge taking care of about 96 children who 90% of them are not going to school. Speaking with the Reverend Chivambo who happens to be leading the home,we got so touched with how children are at this home are surviving. Thank God that they finally got a donation of a house you see on the photo but only accomodates 12 children still more buildings needed forcing the home to send some kids back home where most are reported to be abused. The home has made an attemp to invite professional teachers so they could educate these opharns but failed due to the lack of support for the teachers to render thier academic services. NOW to educate a few the home has started a creche for the 6-8yrs and primary education for 8-11yrs the creche has 26 kids and primary has 11 kids the rest 58 cant not be accomodated so they are left to just wonder about their life. This has come to be our best opportunity to offer non formal education as scouts and seek help for them. The Classroom for the creche and primary school ,is a 12 men sleeper tent donated by a friend from UNCIEF.
