Knots & Scout Skills

During the weekly scouting period every Thursday after class, around 430 scouts from Classes IV to X participated in one-hour basic ropework and pioneering sessions. Students practised essential knots, including the clove hitch, bowline, reef knot, sheet bend, and square lashing. Class teachers and co-class teachers facilitated the sessions after being oriented by the Scout Leaders. Students participated actively by practising the knots, helping one another, and learning through hands-on activities. These sessions developed practical skills, teamwork, coordination, problem-solving, and confidence while preparing scouts for camping, pioneering projects, and other outdoor challenges.
