The project was inspired by the desire to help scouts learn beyond the classroom through adventure, teamwork, and nature. The hike provided an opportunity for them to build resilience and leadership, strengthen teamwork, and appreciate Bhutan’s natural and cultural heritage.

We learned that teamwork, leadership, preparation, and resilience are essential for a successful journey. The project also taught us the importance of supporting one another, caring for the environment, and appreciating our natural and cultural heritage. Most importantly, we learned that meaningful learning can happen beyond the classroom through real-life experiences and shared challenges.

The hike to Rigtong Goenpa and Bumpathang combined trekking, team-building, nature and cultural exploration. Scouts practised teamwork, leadership, discipline, and environmental responsibility, while adult leaders ensured their safety and guidance. The day concluded with reflection and sharing of experiences and lessons learned.
