As part of Jamboree on the air ( JOTA) the Edinburgh Digital Mobile Radio repeater in Scotland ( GB7EE ) will be available to Scouts, Guides and other affiliated groups to use in order to establish and maintain radio contacts with other Scouts and Guides world wide during the period 14th to 16th October 2016 The aim of this is to facilitate Scout to Scout conversations by amateur radio so as they can learn about one another and the country where they reside. This is done with simple to use equipment that will work in most locations with in the Edinburgh City Bypass ( A720 ) . There is a dedicated world wide contact group ( Reflector 4907) that will be operational during the period 14th to 16th October 2016 reserved for Scouts and guides to operate under the supervision of licensed radio amateurs to establish contacts with other Jamboree on the air participants world wide.
