History was made on the 9th day of the 9th month of the year 2016, when His Royal Majesty OBA ADEYEYE ENITAN BABATUNDE OGUNWISI (OJAJA II) and THE AROLE ODU'A OF Yorubaland, was invested into The Nigeria Scout Association as the SCOUT MESSENGER OF PEACE AMBASSADOR and MEMBER OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the Scout Association of Nigeria. In the same CEREMONY, Her Royal Majesty the wife of the OONI was invested as the PATRON MOTHER of The Nigeria Scout CUBS. The ceremony was preceeded by the decoration of two Scouts of the OSUN STATE SCOUT COUNCIl with the WoodBadge and was conducted by The Chief Commissioner of Nigeria Scout Association, OMOBA Olusoga Sofolahan and assisted by the ACC and Head of Department of Adult Resources and Training Prince Ade-olu James Ademola with the South West Assistant National Training Commissioner Mr FEYISETAN PIUS OLUSESAN (LT) with other National Commissioners, Assistant Chief Commissioners and various State representative. The Investiture which was the brainchild of Chief Mrs. ABEBI KILA-OGUNTOYE (LT) The YEYE SALORO of Ijeshaland and the Delegated President of Osun State Scout Council was in keeping with decisions reached at the last AGM in AWKA 2016 in which it was agreed that all Members of The Board of Trustees be brought on board for the setting the Higher Management Body in complete motion. More than 300 Scouts were in attendance for the ceremony and witnessed by the Palace Ruling Council. His Royal Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan in his acceptance promised to do his utmost best to see that Scouting in Nigeria gains its status and premier position as the first Youth Voluntary Organisation in Nigeria. Reading out the Appointment Letter The Chief Commissioner Olusoga Sofolahan extolled the virtues of the Royal Majesty, outlining the various roles he has played even before his ascendancy to the THRONE and how in his short reign he has brokered PEACE other opposing Royalties as well as creating opportunities for the less privileged to have a means of livelihood, while as same time being instrumental to opening up economic and developmental links between Nigeria and other European nations, not to mention the significant role he has so far played in the industrialization of the western states. In the words of the Chief Commissioner, His Royal majesty is an "Astute Entrepreneur, driven by 'TURNING IMPOSSIBILITIES to POSSIBILITIES" with Powers of Imagination that has set him aside leading with revolutionizing the approach to creativity and innovation. marking His Royal Majesty out as a distinctive achiever with the consciousness of youthful excellence. The success of the investiture ceremony is attributable to the significant role played by the DELEGATED PRESIDENT of OSUN STATE SCOUT COUNCIL High Chief Mrs. ABEBI KILA-OGUNTOYE (LT) who offered to release her Hotel Structure to accommodate all the invited and visiting Scout Commissioners across the nation. A feat that deserves her being doffed the cap for a marvelous job done. We happily welcome His Royal Majesty The Ooni of IFE and Yorubaland to the International brotherhood of Scouting.
