Gone Home: Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay (Sierra Leone)
The National Council of the Sierra Leone Scouts Association, regrets to announce the going home of its 1st Vice President, Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay alias AWOKO ( meaning , an orator) who passed on at the Choithram Hospital in Freetown after a long illness aged 62.
Alhaji Joined the Scout Movement at a very early age at the Amaraiya Municipal Primary School in Freetown as a Cub and continued as a Scout at the 36th Freetown Troop, Municipal Secondary School.
Alhaji was the Chairman of Government Assets and Property Commission who played a key role in the allocation of an office space to the Association.
In 2009, he was appointed as Commissioner for Special Duties by the then Chief Scout, Mr. Sidney O. Benka-Coker. In 2013 he was elected as the 1st Vice President and re-elected in 2016
The young people of our Association will surely miss him as one of their strong advocates and sponsors of all Scouting activities in the recent past. The National Scouts Secretariat will also miss him as one of the biggest sponsor of NSOs National Scout Camporee.
