GAMBIA TRAINED 70 (2 BEADS AND 3 BEADS) LEADERS
The Gambia Scout Association conducted a capacity building for 70 leaders of the association at the Friendship Hotel and National Youth Service Scheme training center on Woodbadge(2 beads) and Assistant Leaders Trainers (ALT) (3 beads) from the 14th -20th April 2019 courtesy of the world scout bureau Africa support center through the messengers of peace initiative.
The training Targeted Unit Leaders and aspiring Trainers. These two category training are conducted simultaneously giving the trainees to have a taste of the experience of the trainers on the ground.
The training Aims at closing the Gap in youth programme delivery and contributing to the quantitative and qualitative membership growth target of the Association by 2021.
As part of their First Assignment the Already graduated woodbadge trainees are to set up 40 new Scout Units Across the country and share their experiences and challenges for future development.
The ALT trainees will be working with the National Training Team as they work towards confirmation as Assistant Leader Trainers under the supervision of the Trainer Lamine Diawara and the National Scout Office.
The training was organised by the Gambia Scout Association and conducted by International Trainers Mr Peter Mwema of Kenya and Lamine Diawara of Senegal.
