The educational department of the scout association of Nigeria put up the first ever Diversity inclusion and social impact course which recorded nineteen participants from seven states in the NSO. The course kicked off on the 19th and ended on the 25th of March 2017. The course had resource persons from Nigeria, Unite kingdom and U.S.A. The head of the educational department of the NSO; Apst. Tola Adenekan was the leader of the course with the M.O.P coordinator of the NSO Mr. Solomon Etim as the course administrator. The course was lively and fun packed and. A song was composed in the course of the program by the course leader Apst. Tola Adenekan; the song in a nutshell fully depicts what and who we are as scouts. The song became the official song for the course and am sure that subsequently it will come up not only in the DISI department but in other sections of scouting also. Scouting is a lifelong educational especially for Young people (reference to mission statement) to bring out positive potentials in them that will affect their communities and the world. “where there is a will there is a way”- this shows the readiness for scouts to learn and to make the world a better place. Scouting motivates young people to influence and impact their societies positively.
