From June 19–21, 2025, the lakeside town of Bishoftu, Ethiopia became a hub of innovation and learning as young leaders from across the country gathered for the “Digitalise Youth” training. The three-day workshop focused on equipping Ethiopian youth with essential digital skills, covering topics like online safety, digital storytelling, social media for change, and youth-led innovation. Participants explored how technology can be used to solve real-world challenges in their communities. Through hands-on sessions, teamwork, and inspirational talks, the training sparked a wave of confidence and creativity. By the end, participants emerged as Digital Youth Ambassadors, ready to take what they learned back to their regions and lead with impact. "This training gave me tools and courage to use technology for something bigger than myself," shared one participant. The “Digitalise Youth” training is part of a growing movement to ensure no young person is left behind in the digital era—and it all started in Bishoftu.
