Clone of *200 SCOUTS MEET OVER THE AIR: LEARNING TO USE HAM RADIO AND MORSECODE*

(6th August 2016) The JOTA/JOTI one day event has attracted around 200 scout participants from the local schools. The event, starting from 9:00am to 5:00pm today, was carried out simultaneously at various places in Sarawak. Miri Station Manager, also a teacher of Kolej Tun Haji Bujang, Amri Azmi, said that the event’s objective is to let the scouts learn to understand radio signals, radio communications, phonetics and morsecode, so that they are able to transmit to ask for help in case of an emergency. Miri Scout representative, Mr. Daniel said that the JOTA/JOTI will organize a 3 days 2 nights camping event at Kolej Tun Haji Bujang, so the scouts has a chance to know each other, to share their skills and knowledge. Also, due to the recent internet breakdown at various places. JOTI could not be carried out and we hope that in the next JOTA we could show them how JOTI works. Credit to 9W8SMK. Tq
