Circular Economy – EletroSolidário
The Circular Economy – EletroSolidário project mobilizes Scout Groups nationwide to collect and properly dispose of electronic waste, promote educational campaigns, engage communities, and strengthen partnerships. Through technology, digital resources, and youth leadership, it encourages sustainable practices aligned with the principles of Circular Economy. The practical actions for collecting and safely disposing of electronic waste, combined with innovative educational activities, empower young people to become Messengers of Peace: multipliers of sustainable practices and agents of socio-environmental transformation in their communities.
The project is aligned with Brazil’s National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), which establishes shared responsibility among citizens, companies, and public authorities for environmentally sound waste management. It also contributes to the National Environmental Education Policy (PNEA) and other Brazilian national guidelines that promote community engagement in pollution prevention and environmental protection.
The Circular Economy project objectives are:
1. Engage 25,000 young people as Messengers of Peace, promoting Circular Economy education through campaigns, workshops, and community-led actions;
2. Collect and properly dispose of 10 tons of electronic waste by the end of 2026;
3. Produce and disseminate 12 digital educational resources (videos, infographics, a game, and multimedia content) at a national scale.
This approach strengthens sustainability education, reduces environmental impacts, increases community engagement, and promotes a Circular Economy culture, directly contributing to the achievement of the SDGs and to the advancement of the PNRS.
The Escoteiros do Brasil thank the project’s donor, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for their contribution towards the activities performed in Circular Economy – EletroSolidário, which allowed the project to be developed and implemented.
