Celebration of Diwali Festival

Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across India. The name ‘Deepavali’ literally means an ‘array of lights’. To make the students understand the importance of Diwali, KC Gurukul Public School, Udhampur (UT JK) had a celebration in school with festive gusto. Scout Master Rakesh Sharma explained the importance of Diwali, the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The students delivered speeches on the significance of the festival and the relevance of eco-friendly celebrations. Various other activities such as ‘inter-house Rangoli-making’, candle and ‘diya’ decoration, paper decoration, paper lanterns, best out of waste creations, flower arrangement and Rangoli Making, and card-making contests were organised in all the classes.They took pledge to use only green crackers and celebrate this festival with true spirit. Both Teachers and Scouts and guides enjoyed the Diwali celebrations wholeheartedly.
