CANINES holds its 1st Orientation

CANINES holds its 1st Orientation, Turn Over Rites and Oath Taking Ceremony Canossian Association of Noble, Innovative, Nifty and Enthusiastic Scouts (CANINES) conducted its first orientation, turn over rites and oath taking ceremony, September 16 via Zoom Meeting Application. Beginning with a prayer, scout oath and law, and welcome remarks by Rover Leader David James Dela Cruz, the ceremony highlighted the sharing of Scout Leader Andro Brendo Villapando, Outfit Advisor of Pangao IS about his lessons and experiences he gained since joining the movement. He stressed out one of Lord Baden-Powell’s teaching, “There is no teaching to compare with example” and challenged the scouts to exemplify what they themselves preach. Scout Leader Joseph Sangalang facilitated the orientation and emphasized that every scout must be registered in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines thru BSP Lipa City Council. He then brought up the Messengers of Peace Initiative of WOSM and launched the first CANINES’ Messengers of Peace Roadshow – Self-Introduction and Pledge. This is an activity where they are given a standard format to show their pledge in keeping peace and promoting the WOSM’s MOP Initiative. Presented in the program were the Organization Activity Design which includes the fundamentals of Scouting and activities for United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, BSP Vision and Mission and Scout Ideals like Scout Greeting, Salute, Sign, Handshake, Oath and Law, Motto and Slogan. The scout leader, furthermore, reminded them to wear the official neckerchief and carabao slide in all scouting activities. Meanwhile, ES Kenjie Keneth Punio and ES Patrick Edward Olan formally turned over their duties and responsibilities to VS Ken Jethro Racelis and ES David James Dela Cruz as Senior Crew Leader and Rover Leader, respectively. Scout Leader Sangalang awarded the outgoing officers with certificates of recognition for invaluable service to the community and then presented the Outfit Advisor’s Council. On the other hand, Scout Leader Andrei Brender Villapando presented the Circle Council, including Scout Leader Ronnel M. Latag and Scout Leader Janine Endaya as Asst. Circle Advisers. SCL Ken Jethro Racelis led the oath taking ceremony and presented the Certificates of Appoinments for OAC and CC. The activity was hosted by Rover Aspirant Eula Nicole Atienza and was concluded with the Scout Benediction led by Asst. Senior Crew Leader Ace Dominic Leynes.
