Bulacan Pantry | Bulacan Council

The Rover Scouts of Bulacan Council, headed by the Deputy Program Commissioner for Rover Scouting, Sonny E. Gravador of Circle No. 2 started the Mobile Bulacan Rover Scouts Community Pantry which held simultaneously in Sta. Maria, Marilao, and Abngan Sur, Bulacan

Last April 17, 2021. According to Gravado the aim of their pantry is to give help to our fellow men in Bulacan with the grace of the Almighty.

Despite the pandemic, the rovers of Bulacan still pursued to help the Bulaceños as part of their duty to the country and its citizens. The scouts ensured to follow the protocols anchored by the IATF -- everyone is required to wear face mask and face shields, and observe proper social distancing. They also secure the recipients to follow the protocols to avoid possible viral transmission.

“We can say that our project is successful. The pandemic does not hinder us to achieve our aim,” Gravado said. Community pantry initiatives have been prevalent in the Philippines since Ana Patricia Non from Quezon City started Maginhawa Community Pantry as an aide to those who are less in life. The concept of community pantry is simple, donate only what you can and take only what you need.

On May 2, the scouts will be conducting their second installation of their mobile pantry in Angat, Bulacan., under the supervision of Bulacan Council, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Scout Executive Chester N. Hilario.
