BRUNEI DARUSSALAM SCOUTS ASSOCIATION ORGANISED 4TH BRUNEI DARUSSALAM CUBBOREE

THE 4th Brunei Darussalam Cubboree, held at the National Scout Training and Activity Centre in Gadong, was organised in conjunction with the 100th year anniversary celebrations of World Cub Scouts by Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association through the cub scouts section with collaboration from the Co-curriculum Education Department, Ministry of Education (MoE). The cubboree was held from March 18-23 and involved more than 400 participants from within and outside the country. From the more than 400 participants, 270 were local participants from nine government primary schools and 10 private primary schools. The cubboree included participation from the Malaysian scouts association which included 170 cub scouts from the associations branches across Malaysia such as from Perak, Selangor, Terengganu, Johor, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, while Singapore sent two special observers to the jamboree. Cubboree’ which has the same meaning of ‘Jamboree’ is a gathering of cub scout members where they gain experience and scouting skills while camping. During the Cubboree participants learn to work together as a team and develop leadership characteristics and the ability to be independent as well as make new friends within a unified spirit of brotherhood. It can also engage the interest of members and encourage healthy competition in developing their talent and scouting skills as well as help them to develop a progressive mind, self confidence and leadership skills from the grassroots level.
