Bakau Scouts Lead Mangrove Restoration
When young people are given the right tools and opportunities, they transform their communities. That is exactly what the Scouts of Bakau District have demonstrated after completing the Scouts for SDGs Capacity-Building Training.
Equipped with new skills in community needs assessment, project planning, and sustainability, the Scouts didn’t wait to act. On Saturday 16th of August 2025, in collaboration with Raise The Young Foundation, they organized and carried out a mangrove planting activity in the Bakau Tanbi wetlands.
This activity is more than just planting trees; it is a statement of commitment. It shows how young people, when empowered, can take local actions with global impact. The Bakau Scouts have turned knowledge into action, proving that grassroots solutions are key to building a greener, safer, and more sustainable future for generations to come.
