2nd Africa Moot

Participating in the 2nd Africa Scout Moot 2026 in Johannesburg, South Africa, was one of the most meaningful experiences of my Scouting and leadership journey. Under the theme “Phezulu Nangaphezulu – Higher and Higher,” I participated in outdoor Scouting activities, innovation, community service, environmental initiatives, cultural exchange, teamwork and leadership development. These experiences strengthened my resilience, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills, while community service taught me that true leadership is about serving others and creating positive change. The Moot also allowed me to connect with Scouts and young leaders from across Africa, appreciate our cultural diversity and strengthen my belief in unity, peace and collaboration. Exploring Johannesburg and engaging with its history and culture broadened my perspective of Africa. Most importantly, the experience deepened my understanding of the SDGs and showed me how young people can contribute through innovation, service and sustainable action. I returned with new skills, friendships and a stronger commitment to empower young people and serve my community. For me, “Higher and Higher” became more than a theme—it became a mindset and a commitment to continuous growth.
