Welcome to the Nutrition challenge! Ready to build a healthier relationship with food? This challenge will guide you on a journey of learning about healthy eating habits, the importance of nutrients, and the diversity of nutritional needs. Get started on this journey, gather all the tools, and put them into practice to earn your Nutrition badge!

  • Understand your lifestyle choices and what habits can be improved to optimise your health.
  • Have all the tools and knowledge to make healthy food choices.
  • Encourage those around you to join you in adopting healthy habits.
  • Grasp how nutrition also affects both your physical and mental health.

In case you didn't know…

  • You are what you eat! The food you eat can have a big impact not only on your physical health, but on your mood as well.
  • Eating a variety of foods from all the food groups—fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy—helps you get the nutrients you need to stay healthy and energetic.
  • Drinking enough water is essential for staying hydrated, especially when you're active. Aim for at least 6-8 glasses of water a day.
  • Foods rich in calcium, like milk, cheese, and leafy greens, help build strong bones and teeth
  • Not all fats are bad. Healthy fats from avocados, nuts, and fish are important for brain health and energy.
  • Learning to cook simple, healthy meals can be fun and helps you understand more about what you eat.

8 steps to digital badge success

  1. Agree with your Leader on the activities and community project you want to do.
  2. Complete a minimum of 5 activities from our activity bank (next page).
  3. Answer the reflection questions after each activity.
  4. Complete your community service project related to nutrition and healthy habits.
  5. Reflect with your Adult Leader on your experience during the challenge and how your project is making a positive change.
  6. Share your project story on sdgs.scout.org.
  7. Wait up to a week for the feedback email.
  8. Congratulations on a job well done! Your digital badge is in your account.
