Nutrition Trivia Challenge

Learning Objectives

•    Enhance knowledge about nutrition and healthy eating habits through a fun trivia game.
•    Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills by answering questions related to food and nutrition.
•    Foster teamwork and collaboration by working together to answer trivia questions.

Instructions

-    Divide participants into teams or individual players, depending on the group size and preference.
-    Prepare a set of trivia questions covering various topics related to nutrition, healthy eating, food groups, and dietary guidelines. Create the questions based on the challenge document, YUNGA Nutrition Badge or a reliable source of information. Make sure they are age appropriate. 
-    Present the trivia questions to the participants, allowing each team or player to take turns answering. Award points for correct answers and keep track of scores throughout the game. For this activity, you will need to prepare the prize (even symbolic) for the winner to boost motivation. 
-    Encourage participants to discuss and collaborate on answers, promoting teamwork and problem-solving skills.
-    Make the trivia challenge interactive and engaging by incorporating visuals, multimedia, or props to illustrate concepts and reinforce learning.

Debrief

-    After completing the trivia challenge, gather participants for a debrief session to discuss their experiences and what they learned.
-    Reflect on the trivia questions and answers, highlighting key concepts and facts related to nutrition and healthy eating habits.
-    Encourage participants to share any new knowledge or insights gained from the trivia game.
-    Discuss how the trivia challenge helped reinforce the importance of making informed food choices and adopting healthy eating habits.
-    Emphasise the value of continuous learning and staying curious about nutrition and health-related topics.
