This activity is part of the Health and Wellbeing Initiative; more information about future challenges is coming soon!
Scouts will get a mini scarf and a marker; the idea is for them to write (inside of the scarf) something or someone they are grateful for, fold it and hang it in their regular scarf. After folding it they need to take a selfie in the gratefulness stand, keep or give it to someone they are grateful for.
Develop these Key Competencies
- Step 1: Give each participant a mini scarf and a marker.
- Step 2: Explain the activity: The idea is to write (inside of the scarf) something or someone you are grateful for, fold it, and hang it in your normal scarf.
- Step 3: Encourage participants to take their time to think about what or who they are grateful for and to express their gratitude through words or drawings on the mini scarf.
- Step 4: After folding the mini scarf, ask the participants to go to the gratefulness stand and take a selfie with their folded scarf.
- Step 5: Participants can either keep their mini scarf as a reminder of their gratitude or give it to someone they are grateful for.
- Step 6: Encourage participants to share their experiences and feelings about the activity with the group.
Suggest the Scouts share their mini scarf using the event hashtag on social media. This can help spread the message of gratitude and promote the WOSM’s values.
