Zhabto at pelghi goenpa

I'm glad that I got a chance to take part in this construction work. With scout moto in my mind, I was inspired to atleast help with all I can.
The program was conducted at a Buddhist Monastery in Bhutan named as Cheri Monastery. Soon after reaching the place, we carried red concrete blocks and silver roofing sheets uphill to a place called Pelgire. We stacked them in six rows and it was going to be used for building retreat house for the retreaters. We collected granite stones from a park and stack them together beside Pelgire monastery and and it was going to be used for building toilets. We were tired yet we were satisfied.
From this project many monks are benefited. We help to carry steal roof and cement block to the construction place. The construction was mainly for the mediation house for the monks.
Embarking on volunteer activities it enabled me to learn survival skills such as responsibility, ability to express ideas as well as the importance of hard work and diligence. Volunteering provided me with a healthy boost to my self-confidence and self-esteem. I also learned how to put my leadership qualities into a good action and help those in need. It helped me to find my spark by serving others and take action. I will further make it better by participating active in public service.
