"Zero Waste Saturday" is a project started by the Alpine Open Scout & Guide Unit, Kohima to keep the locality, parks, public places, roads clean by clearing the waste garbage, plastic wrappers and plastic wastes, rubber wastes, paper and other non- biodegradable wastes and maintaining greenery throughout these places on every Saturday morning involving the scouts, guides, rovers and rangers and the adult leaders of the unit to fight against the growing non- biodegradable wastes piling up in the city.
