Zero Waste GCIT

Zero Waste Hour initiative in motivating students at Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology in Bhutan to take action towards waste reduction and environmental sustainability. The moto emphasizes the importance of taking small actions and the power of collective action in creating a better future for ourselves and the planet.
Location: The cleaning campaign took place in Gyalpozhing, Mongar, Bhutan. Execution: The campaign was launched by 45 rovers from the Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology. The campaign was held during a "Zero Waste Hour" for about three hours. The rovers collected litter and debris from the streets and public spaces of The collected waste was disposed of properly. The campaign aimed to promote sustainable practices, and inspire others to take action for a cleaner and greener future.
By promoting sustainable practices and encouraging people to take responsibility for their waste, the campaign helped to instill a sense of community responsibility and promote a culture of environmental conservation. It is also mentioned that the campaign benefitted 2300 people. It is possible that the improved cleanliness of the area may have had a positive impact on their health and well-being, as well as their overall quality of life.
Waste management is everyone's responsibility. Collective action can make a big difference. Education and awareness-raising are key. Community involvement is critical.
