Colombo District branch  launched the project in Kotte City .

First we met the deputy Mayor Mr.Premalal Athukorala and described him about the project that It is to raise public awareness about proper waste management .Then we took permission from the Kotte municipal Council and, we informed scout leaders in the monthly scout leaders meeting and encouraged them to participate their scouts and cubs for this project  applications. On the 2nd of November we had the training programme   Then we were grouped them. Each team were given a Road map and road instructions what area that they should do the awareness, Scouts educated the public about Proper solid waste management methods proper garbage disposal methods and 5R concept .
The people of those areas were informed by a PA system provided by the municipal council before the project.

The scouts participated in the project issued leaflets in the households, shops and other entities. The PHI department of Kotte Municipal council headed by Dr.Manoj Rodrigo ,Mirihana and Welikada  Police Stations joined hands with us to make this project a success .
