YOUTH FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH CLIMATE RESILIANCE

YOUTH FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH CLIMATE RESILIANCE

Zimbabwe scouts venture into a popular youth empowerment programme called U-Report at the Harare Agricultural Exhibition Show 2016. As a sensatisation programme, Zimbabwe scouts in partnership with UNICEF Zimbabwe have ,since the 22nd of August, been sensitizing the young people on how to amplify their voice so they could be heard by policy makers for a sustainable community development. U-Report , Since its inception sometime last year (2014) has had several workshops on this programme within the scouting movement in Zimbabwe but this year U-Report Zimbabwe has gone external, reaching out to the local communities. Many citizens are attending the site (stand no 116) where support materials like brochures, posters and fliers are being issued out to visitors. Scouts of Zimbabwe aims to increase the number of U-Reporters in Zim from the current number of 38.681 to 100 000 by the year end 2016. Not only the U-Report Zimbabwe that is being preached on, but also U-Report Global for scouts meaning scouts are also getting an opportunity to be registered on the platform. Through a young spokesperson programme concept, a media station has been created on site for online stories and updates. More Aggressive awareness programmes are set for the next coming weeks. Zimbabwe is on the move guys , lets all join U-Report. Special thanks to UNICEF for their chockfull support, we really appreciate.
