Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America honors fallen veterans, those who serve, and teaches the value of freedom by placing or sponsoring wreaths at military grave markers, fostering respect and unity among generations. The Senior Patrol Leader organized the Troop’s participation at Cheltenham Veteran’s Cemetery on Dec 15, 2024, and Jan 25, 2025, chosen in part because the SPL’s great-grandfather is buried there, along with other Scouts' loved ones.

On Dec 15, the Troop attended the opening ceremony, heard speeches from veterans, and then worked to place wreaths while observing a moment of silence at each marker. On Jan 25, the Troop returned to the cemetery to remove the wreaths and clean up. They brought rakes, long poles, and work gloves to efficiently gather and dispose of the wreaths and any other trash.

This project helps spread peace and “fosters respect, remembrance, and unity among different generations."
