We Are Scouts: From Syria to Australia

Omar and Saad were two Syrian Scouts who suffered through the Syrian civil war. Though their lives were under threat they continued to do service for their community. After being shot at, arrested and tortured, they fled their war torn country and were granted refugee visas to come to Australia. In Australia they rejoined Scouting and begun telling their story of hope, survival, brotherhood and peace. They joined with their local Rover Scout Crew and created a video to share their story so that others may understand the commonality of Scouts from all over the world. They continue to tell their story through media outlets, local schools and their day to day living of their new lives of peace in Australia.
