Menstrual Hygiene Management Day
Bhutan

"We Are Committed, Men Take Lead" MHM Day

Near half of the world shed blood of birth, still most are not known to it. Its so strange. Most women are ashamed of their periods. To ensure period positive we observed Menstrual Hygiene Management Day with the theme "We Are Committed, Men Take Lead."

Project was implemented in Martshala Middle School. Awareness program was held in collaboration with the health program of school to advocate and take action towards a world where no one is held back because they menstruate.

It had a huge benefit not only to the girls of our school but also to the boys of our school. Red Dot Bhutan calls for men and boys to take lead roles in breaking stigma about menstruation.

Men should be supportive during the time of menstruation. Girls who go through menstruation should be empowered to practice effective management of menstrual hygiene.
