Walk for Cleanliness of Dam Sides

Khyber PakhtunkhwaPakistan. About 40 km from Islamabad. It forms Khan Pur Lake, a reservoir which supplies drinking water to Islamabad and Rawalpindi and irrigation water to many of the agricultural and industrial areas surrounding the cities. It is 167 feet (51 m) high and has a water storing capacity of 110,000-acre feet.

Keeping in mind Importance of Life below water and role of plastic trash   pollution in environment and climate challenge a study tour was organised for elementary classes, before going to tour students was educated about the importance of reducing, reuse and recycle concept

A group of 45 HDF students of elementary classes visit Khan pur dam on dated September 15,2020, All student spread in groups and they collect maximum Trash (disposable cups, plates, plastic shopper, rappers, etc) 

All students spent 4 hours on dam and enjoy a day trip by boating, camel ride, horse ride and swings 

 

 

 

Objective of the activity was 

  1. Educate children about the importance of dam and their structure
  2. Walk for Cleanliness of trash from Dam Sides
  3. Awareness about life below water
  4. Awareness about  reduce , reuse and recycle concept
