Volunteer service during the Death of Driver MB Tamang

SEMJONG 7th Januay 2019

I and fouty four of my friends help to in creamation of driver Mon Bdr. Tamang by serving refreshment and collects logs to burn dead body.

Tamang ཏ་མང་ are one of the largest ethnic group in Tsirang. They follow buddhist oriented tradition and culture. Tamang greatly celebrate the Losar(ཟླཝ་དང་པ།) and religious festival Saga Dawa(Budha Jayanti) like buddhism.Dashain and Tihar is also celebrated with much enthusiasm.

In Tsirang, Tamang resides mostly in higher altitudes of Barshong, Majuwa(ས་གཙང་མ།),
Thangray(མཐའ་སྐོར་གླིང།), Bulkay, Chanoutay(རང་འཐག་གླིང།), Tsirang dara(ཙི་རང་སྟོད།), Gosarling and small beauty village of Semjong(Daragoue).

Over the course of my life I,ve been to lots of places in Tsirang but i felt homey inn when I visited a place called Semjong(Daragoue).
A place is only as good as the people there which really impressed me a lot to see strong human cooperation within themselves. A cradle like hill which was called as Kokray before is now renamed as Dekiling from we use to carry oranges till Changcha Bazar during 1990s along with my friends and cousins. My mother's relatives village, Bararayy mostly populated by Mongars is rename as Tashiling in Shemjong.

I attended the cremation ceremony of late Mon Bdr. Ghishing(about 48 years old), excavater operator who undesirably made with accident and lost his life on 6th January 2019 at Lhamozingkha(Kalikhola).

I was accompanied by my olderly friends, I could see many other people from different villages gathered and prepared for the ceremony along with Tamang Lamas. Spending a day, interacting with local people and participating in the ceremony is an authuentic way to withness and understand Tamang traditions and ways of thinking.

Pleasant to meet with many of my schooling mates after long years back. ཉམས་དགའ་བའི་ཆ་རོགས། ངལ་རངས་ཡི། Thanks Asang Norbu, mithey Nima and your family for making me feel homey treatment.
Great STO Lama Dhan Bir Tamang and his brother Lama Lal Bir Tamang.
Wishing well of deceased family in this time of loss. I’m always there in your hour of need.
May his soul finds peace and rest in enternity.
