Voluntary Service Sacred Red Vajra Crown Ceremony
Inspiration: Bhutanese culture teaches that serving others brings merit
Participation: As School Scout Coordinator, I coordinated three Nazhoen Scouts from Zilukha MSS to serve thousands of devotees, alongside the police, Desuups and Scouts from other schools
Hope: That the scouts would learn humility, discipline and teamwork, and value our spiritual heritage
I briefed the three Nazhoen Scouts from Zilukha MSS on their duties, conduct and the value of service.
On 17 October 2026, they served at the Global Peace Prayer Ground, Changlingmithang, alongside the police, Desuups and Scouts from other schools.
1. Line formation: guiding devotees into orderly lines
2. Crowd control: keeping pathways clear and assisting the elderly
3. Waste management: collecting litter and keeping the ground clean
4. Serving: serving devotees with humility and care
1. Service brings merit: Selfless service brings merit and fulfilment.
2. Teamwork: Large events succeed through cooperation with others.
3. Discipline and patience: Managing crowds calmly needs self-control.
4. Humility: Serving devotees taught the scouts to be humble.
Responsibility: Even small tasks, like keeping the ground clean, matter.
5. Respect for heritage: Serving at a sacred event deepened our appreciation of Bhutan’s traditions.
