Vitamin A+ Health Awareness Campaign

The motivation behind this campaign was the pressing necessity to bring awareness about Vitamin A deficiency, particularly in children of underprivileged communities. Discovering that such blindness and weak immunity can be prevented with a simple supplement moved the team to action. The ambition to create a sustainable health difference through inexpensive measures was a great motivating force.
The campaign was launched in collaboration with the local health centers and schools. Awareness campaigns were held to inform parents about the necessity of Vitamin A. Children under the age of five were administered supplements with the help of volunteers and health workers who were specifically trained for the task.
The project powerfully argued the case for planning and ease of communication in health campaigns. We discovered that employing local leaders enabled trust and participation. One of the main lessons was the way misinformation could derail efforts, and how important it was to educate in a simple and accessible way. The exercise reinforced that small, focused actions could have powerful public health effects.
