Vitamin A+ Campaign
The national Vitamin A+ plus campaign began across Bangladesh on Saturday, 11 January 2020 aiming to feed vitamin A+ plus capsules to 2.10 crore children aged between 6 to 59 months.
Children aged between 6 to 11 months was be fed the blue coloured vitamin-A+ capsules, while those aged between 12 to 59 months were fed the red coloured ones.
The capsules were given at some 1, 20,000 permanent and 20000 mobile health centres across the country.
Mobile health centres were set up at bus stands, railway stations, launch terminals, airports, ferry terminals, bridge toll centres and kheya ghats which remained open from 8:00am to 4:00pm to make sure that all children were fed the capsules.
Besides, to make the campaign success, Rovers and scouts of Bangladesh scouts join the campaign a total 2.80lakh volunteers have been trained. Control rooms have been opened in every upazila, district and all centres for monitoring the campaign. Rovers of Savar Cantonment open scout group works on the campaign in savar City Corporation and savar upazila.
