Brief Report on Clean Campaign-on 08-05-2021
We the Nobding Lower Secondary School Scout and staff have conducted cleaning campaign on 08-05-2021 to keep our community clean and tidy. Our motive is to sensitize the community and students regarding the waste and its impact in our society.
Of course, there is a serious problem with the pandemic issues around the globe. With that in mind, cleaning campaign was conducted thoughtfully and in harmony with the latest health guidelines. Students and staff were advice to follow the health protocol while going for outdoor activity. We can work together to keep our living area safety and peace unless we keep our surrounding clean. As we all know that pollution can occur in any state or forum, be it water, land or air.  It is everywhere so, we should be most aware of it and also knows how to prevent it. Many of us do not know or bother about the proper disposal of wastes. The problem of the effective waste management is very important nowadays. The solution of this problem is necessary not only to the safety of human environment and human health but also to all the living creatures.  At the same time, it is necessary to emphasize that often a little attention is paid to this problem and solid waste are often disposed improperly. The mass cleaning campaign was organized to advocate in the community and to disseminate the importance of keeping our environment eco friendly.
Waste management is an alarming issue in the developing country like Bhutan. People need to be informed and educated about the waste management and its negative impact on the environment and the human health through various means. One of the ways of creating waste awareness is by conducting mass cleaning in the public and the most polluted areas.
There are many environment pollution that we can put under control is the solid waste. Therefore its the responsibility of every individual to take care of our own waste. If this happens, its sure that we will be able to live in a healthier and green environment.
With the objective to educate people on waste management, Scout and Health Club conducted a day long cleaning campaign along the Wangdue-Trongsa highway and in and around the Nobding town, on 12th May 2021. Nobding being along the highway connecting with other gewog, the place is heavily polluted with all sorts of waste. The place is also under constructions of new houses and factories. Due to so many people gather the wastes are all dumped and thrown anywhere so the places seems to be unhygienic to all. Everyday hundreds of vehicles ply on the road. Commuters do not realize about the negative impact of their waste on the environment and litter everywhere they like to and as a result the environment gets infested with waste.
Staff and students were grouped and given different area to take an action. Before activities were carried out the entire participant were brief about their roles as to take part.
With the refreshment from the various volunteer and shopkeeper we could collect more than 2 tons of waste. Wastes are dumped in proper places just below the crasher that is dumping yard.
Thus, taking the above mentioned into account, it is possible to conclude that solid waste need to be disposed properly in order to minimize its negative impact on human health and environment. Every on
