A Tree for the FUTURE...
“People who will not sustain trees will soon live in a world that will not sustain people.” ----Bryce Nelson
Tree planting is the process of transplanting seedlings, generally for forestry, land reclamation, or landscaping purposes. It differs from the transplantation of larger trees in arboriculture, and from the lower cost but slower and less reliable distribution of tree seeds.
In celebration of our Founder’s Legacy, Pampanga Council conducted a Tree Planting Activity last February 25, 2021 at San Ramon Dam, Floridablanca, Pampanga. The campaign for National Greening program with the help of the PENRO Pampanga, Civil Military Office of the Philippine Air Force, 5th Fighter Wing Base Air Base, Floridablanca, Pampanga headed by Captain Dilag and Barangay Captain Capulong of San Ramon, Municipality of Floridablanca, Pampanga, with Alicia P. De Leon our Council Field Executive, Council Chairman Sctr. Rolando C. Calma of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Pampanga Council, other Council Commissioners, Council Training Team and Scout Leaders.
The tree planting activity aims to provide green and healthy environment for the community people. Trees that were planted are bitaog, narra and guyabano. We really need these trees to mitigate the effects of climate change and to help preserved the land near the San Ramon Dam.
Anyone, of any age, can protect the environment. As Pampanga Council’s Messengers of Peace Coordinator, I am encouraging everyone to start saving Mother Earth as early as possible before it’s too late, even in simple ways. Nothing can ever be small or significant when it comes to environmental protection. For it is not only by giving that we become messengers of peace but also in planting trees that can make our environment at peace.
