Trash Tag Challenge cum Jangsem Monday advocation

On 13th April, I along with 31 Nachung Scout members and 3 teachers carried out the trash tag challenge cum advocation on Jangsem Monday to communities. We started the activities from school and covered 14 house hold from 900am hours to 1200pm hour. The trash tag challenge was done in two areas:

1. Below the school campus and nearby shop as they have dumped waste in open areas.

2. Near by settlement areas as they had been dumping waste between giant rocks.

In total we collected 14 sacks of waste.

As my school is located in remote part of Samtse Dzongkhag with majorities of people speaking Lhotsham I had tough time conveying message about Jangsem Monday to the community. Despite the hardship, I requested my friend(teacher) to convey the message and I too did my best by interacting with people. My team visited every household near our school campus and we made sure that indivdual understood the very reason for starting Jangsem Monday in our community. We received positive response from individual stating to be meatless atleast in Monday and to create awareness with rest of the people.
