Traffic Control Service

In August 2024, due to the absence of traffic police services amid changing circumstances, traffic services in the city were severely disrupted. As a result, traffic congestion increased significantly, causing greater suffering for the public. As a Scout, I took the initiative to work with local volunteers to help manage traffic in the busy areas of the city.
The initiative to provide traffic services was first taken by the Rajshahi District Rover. With the permission of the Deputy Commissioner, the Rover Scouts began offering their services in the busy areas of Rajshahi City Corporation. A total of 194 volunteer Rover Scouts and Adult Leaders participated. We divided the work among ourselves and provided traffic control services in shift throughout the week.
Taking leadership and initiative was the first challenge, collaboration and teamwork played a significant role. Starting the work with the permission of DC proves that coordinating with legal and administrative frameworks makes any effort much more effective. Providing services in shifts helped develop time management and discipline. This experience was not just about traffic control, but also enhanced leadership, discipline, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to work together.
